Tribunal Dismiss Atiku’s Forgery Petition Against Tinubu
The Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal has dismissed allegations of forgery and conviction against President Bola Tinubu, brought by Atiku Abubakar and the PDP.
In a judgement read by Justice Moses Ugo, the court, ruled that the petitioners did not specify the constitutional requirements in question. The judge also struck out allegations of electoral irregularities against Kogi State Governor and one Friday Adejo, said to be a Local Government Chairman in Kogi State as not included as parties in the case.
The claims of President Bola Tinubu’s dual citizenship and a prior drug conviction were also dismissed by Justice Ugo.
The judge also upheld the objections of the APC and Tinubu that Atiku and PDP cannot present new issues not originally pleaded.
