Peter Obi Console Kano Mosque Explosion Victims at Hospital (PHOTOS)

Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has visited victims of a bomb attack at a mosque in Kano State.

The attack happened in Gadan village, Gezawa Local Government area of Kano State, on May 16, 2024.

Obi made this known in his condolences message shared via his X account on Sunday, May 19, 2024.

According to Peter Obi, “I visited Murtala Mohammed Hospital in Kano to sympathize with those injured and receiving treatment at the hospital. The visit was to physically show solidarity with the wounded, offer support, and wish them a speedy recovery, as well as to thank and encourage the management of the hospital. And most importantly, it was to send a message to the victims that we stand together in condemnation of any senseless act of violence and killing in our country.”

The former governor and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate visited the victims of the attack on their recovery beds at the Murtala Mohammed Hospital in Kano.

He also went on to send condolences to the government of Kano State, the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, and the families of the victims.

According to the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Husseini Muhammad, a total of 23 victims were received in the hospital. 15 out of this number have passed away, while the remaining eight are receiving medical treatment.
