Tony Elumelu, the Chairman of the United Bank of Africa (UBA), has revealed his plans for the presidency come 2027.
The successful banker stated that not everyone needs to become president to make a difference. He also added that he will support people he believes are providing good leadership.
Elumelu made this revelation in an interview with the Financial Times.
According to Elumelu, “People ask me this question. All of us don’t have to be president, but what we all want is good leadership. We will coalesce around people we believe are providing good leadership.”
PAPERNG has gathered that the businessman enjoys a close relationship with incumbent President Bola Tinubu. This could mean providing support for his re-election in 2027.
Elumelu is also an appointed member of Tinubu’s economic team.
