Minimum Wage: Striking Labour Leaders Shutdown FIRS Office, Airport in Lagos

Officers at the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) were on Monday, May 3, 2024, chased out of their office at Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos State.

The labour leaders forcefully evicted the officers on duty with canes. This action reflects the eagerness of the union to stick to its demands.

At around 6.02 am on Monday, June 3rd, NLC officials restricted entry and exit into a local airport in Ikeja. This action halted flight operations and scheduled many passengers as they were seen stranded.

The Labour Congress revised its demand for the minimum wage to N497,000 last week and then recently to N494,000.
